Firewise Resources

The national Firewise USA® recognition program helps neighbors in a community work together to organize, plan, and take steps to make their homes and neighborhoods more fire-resistant. Communities that meet certain voluntary requirements each year and maintain "In Good Standing" status can officially call themselves a Firewise® Site.

The Shasta County Fire Safe Council provides residents with resources and support to organize and learn about personal preparedness, alerts and warning, local evacuation plans, and strategies to make their community more fire-resistant.
